All WJ Consulting
services are delivered by founder and principal Hilary
Weston Joel. I have over 20 years of experience in
management consulting, leadership coaching, professional
development, and business education. In addition to executive
coaching, my experience includes work in the following areas:
strategic and business planning, organizational change,
management best practices, process improvement, financial
modeling, and team development.
Before establishing my own management consulting and
coaching firm, I worked at consulting firms Booz Allen &
Hamilton for 2 years and as a Principal at American Management
Systems (now CGI-AMS) for 8 years. Consulting and management
responsibilities included special strategic and international
projects for the CEO and CFO, organization and dissemination
of management best practices, process redesign, new service
development, and information systems design for clients in
numerous industries.
As the Charles M. Williams Research Fellow at Harvard
Business School, I co-wrote eleven HBS case studies and
teaching notes based on interviews with senior executives at
organizations such as IBM, Marriott, Gannett, American Red
Cross, and ADP.
In addition to helping established businesses and
non-profits improve their strategy, operations, and management
effectiveness, I have helped several start up businesses
prepare full business plans.
I earned an MBA degree from Harvard Business School
(Baker Scholar, top 5%) and a BA degree in Economics (cum
laude) from Princeton University. I am a graduate of
the accredited Leadership Coaching Program at Georgetown
University's Center for Professional Development and the
Myers-Briggs (MBTI) Qualifying Workshop at Otto
Kroeger Associates. I hold the designation of Associate
Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation
and am a certified administrator of The Leadership Circle©
360-degree feedback and profiling tool.

About WJ Consulting Engagements

On most coaching engagements, Ms. Joel
partners one-on-one with the client executive, sometimes
reaching out to the management team. Coaching engagements
generally last from 4 to 12 months. The paying client may be the
coached individual or their organization (i.e., the employer)
with the goals for each engagement shaped accordingly. Coaching
sessions are conducted in person and by phone. Ms. Joel also
works with senior management teams and Boards facilitating
strategy sessions, retreats, team improvement initiatives, and
Myers-Briggs workshops. |
